Discipleship Training School

A Discipleship Training School (or DTS for short) is a 5-6 month Christian discipleship school run by YWAM bases all over the world. The school is split into two halves: lecture phase and outreach phase. The lecture phase is 3 months of classes where every week we will discover a different topic such as: the nature and character of God, the Bible, hearing God’s voice, and many more. Growing us deeper in love with Jesus and His Word, helping us to understand who He is and who we are in Him, knowing our identity and purpose on this earth. The outreach phase is 2 months of missions! Taking what we learn in the lecture phase and putting it into practice to bless others and share God’s Gospel, Word, and love to the nations.

A DTS is a great opportunity to get to know God better together with a community of people who are hungry to do the same with you, and get a strong foundation for the rest of your life in whatever you do. It is also a great entryway into missions if you feel called to missions or ministry in any way. A DTS is the entry school into YWAM, opening up many more training schools and possibilities through the University of the Nations (YWAM’s university).

Upcoming Schools

We are excited to announce that we will be running our third DTS here at YWAM Suva in October 2026!

If you are interested in joining, we require a full commitment during period of the dates below as this is a full-time school, so you would need to pause any studies, work or family commitments during the 5 and a half months the course runs for. It is also a requirement that all students move into our campus for the duration of the school. And there is also a financial commitment to pay the lecture phase fees (which covers the costs of accomodation, food and other school related costs) and to pay the outreach phase fees (which covers the flights to your outreach destination and back, plus all ground costs of food, accomodation and transport while you are in the destination).

Some notes with the fees. The lecture phase fee is done in three categories (A, B and C nations) depending on what nation you are from. This is done because we want to make the school accessible to all people no matter where they are from or what their financial situation, we hope you can understand, and if you have any questions feel free to ask us.
